Meet Mark
I was born into a real estate family and I always knew it was the career for me! My father was a homebuilder in Southeast King County and my mother was not only a mortgage broker, but also the founder of a large mortgage company. My wife’s parents were both real estate agents in Federal Way and convinced me to try appraising real estate. I transitioned from an eight-year career building homes to becoming an appraiser for six years and then moved into real estate sales in 1994.
I work with my wife Tanya and together we make up Team DeWitt based out of the John L. Scott Renton office. My years of experience in a variety of aspects of real estate lend itself very well to my current role. Whether it’s providing guidance or offering hands on help, we are solution minded, no matter what the challenge is. We will do whatever it takes to assist our clients in meeting their goals.
I primarily work in the city of Renton, but I also help clients buy and sell in Issaquah, Newcastle, Bellevue, Covington and Auburn. My job is to advise home sellers, buyers, real estate investors, landowners and developers on how to get the highest net return on their real estate investments and I take that very seriously.
Although I love my job, I also enjoy spending time with my family and whenever I can, especially outdoors. Camping, hiking and fishing are other hobbies of mine.
Kent
Conveniently located between Seattle and Tacoma, Kent is the third largest city in King County and the second oldest. Despite its size and age, Kent maintains a close-knit community and boasts every modern amenity. Kent is home to the Showare Center, a multi-use events center that hosts concerts and other live events and is the home of the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey team, the Tacoma Stars of the Major Arena Soccer League, and the Seattle Mist of the Legends Football league. Touring shows like the Harlem Globetrotters and Disney on Ice also make stops at the Showare Center. In the heart of downtown, Kent Station is an open-air center for shopping, dining, relaxing and seeing movies. Kent Station also holds events throughout the year like Halloween trick or treating, Easter egg hunts, summer concerts, and pictures with Santa during the holidays. Kent residents love to get outdoors, taking in the views of Mt. Rainier from one of our many parks, biking along the valley trails, and bird watching at the Green River Natural Resources Area.
